I’m not sure Ashley does a huge amount other than watch stuff, here’s a couple of things he’s been watching and what he thought about them.
Wall-E – Amazing, beautiful, clever, emotional, funny, heart-warming, perfect!
Bolt - Cute kid's stuff, Rhino the hamster is brilliant!
There you go, that’s what he watched and what he thought about it all.
Wall-E is described by IMDb like this “In the distant future a small waste collecting robot inadvertently embarks on a space journey that will ultimately decide the fate of mankind.” Okay, it manages a very respectable average of 8.5 out of 10 stars so for once Ashley may be right about something he’s watched, it also made over $532M at the box office which is a very good return.
Bolt is another animated movie and IMDb describes it as “The canine star of a fictional sci-fi/action show that believes his own powers are real embarks on a cross country trek to save his co-star from a threat he believes is just as real.” It manages to score 7.2 out of 10 as well so it’s got that going for it.
The problem for me with both of these movies is that I have almost no interest in animated films. I find the whole animated movie juggernaut, that seemed to start with Toy Story, and which shows little sign of slowing up, a bit meh. I can’t think of a much worse movie experience than sitting in a cinema that’s 90% populated by giddy children, hopped up on sweets, popcorn and fizzy drinks. I’d rather watch a movie while being chased about by a hungry tiger and so it makes no odds that Ashley liked these films or that people give them a high mark out of 10, I’m not watching them and you can’t make me.
